The Hire a Canoe post-work paddle is great for everybody. Whether you’re an avid canoer or if you’ve never done it before, everyone is welcome. The route we will take is beginner-friendly and covers the stretch of the River Severn by The Quarry Park.
What is the Post-Work Paddle?
The post-work paddle is a weekly event that we will be running every Thursday, starting on the 10th July. The event will start at 6 pm, and we kindly ask everyone to arrive 15 minutes before then. This allows us enough time to provide the safety briefing, kit you out with your buoyancy aids and introduce you to your canoe.
You will be out on the river for 1 hour (6 pm-7 pm), allowing you enough time to explore the calm water of the River Severn.
This is not a guided event, so you will be able to paddle wherever you would like to. We advise paddling upstream for 2/3s of the time and then floating back downstream with the current.
The post-work evening paddle event is suitable for everyone! Our minimum age is 6, and all under-18s must have an adult in the canoe with them.

You don’t need to bring anything along with you except a good sense of adventure and yourself! We suggest you bring some comfortable clothing and trainers; we supply everything else you may need.

No, this route on the River Severn is completely beginner-friendly. The water is nice and calm with no obstacles to avoid.
There must be a minimum of 2 people in a canoe.
We operate a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within the 48 hours, you will not be entitled to a refund or reschedule. If the river is unsafe or unsuitable for hire, we reserve the right to cancel your booking for your safety. If this is the case, your booking will be saved, and you can rebook with us for another date.
The start time for our Post-Work Paddle is 6 pm, but we ask you to arrive 15 minutes early.
There is no on-site parking at the Quarry. However, there is parking just past the Armoury. There is also Frankwell Car Park, which is free after 6 pm and only a 5-minute walk to our launch point.

Absolutely! Our minimum age for canoe hire is 6 years old. They must have at least one adult in the canoe with them.
We recommend that you book in advance to avoid being disappointed!
Our first date is the 10th July, and we will be running this event every Thursday until the 28th August.
We operate until conditions become unsafe. Your safety is our priority, and if our qualified team decide conditions are unsafe for hire, we will contact you and rearrange your booking.
We ask that you meet us at our launch point at The Quarry Park. This is next to Porthill Bridge by the café.
